The first week of October 2025, the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), Africa Technology Assessment Platform (AfriTAP), and ETC Group organize a pan African convening in Addis Abeba (Ethiopia) to critically reflect and strategize on the intersection of food systems and the digital economy.
The Grassroots Innovations Assembly for Agroecology is part of the discussion (Kenyan Peasant League, Schola Campesina, Prolinnova) and seeks to articulate the PanAfrican efforts with initiatives of other continents undertaking the same reflections, resistance and support to grassroots-led solutions; as necessary alternatives to imposed technologies.
